04/30/2012 - Speaking for Success

Class was lots of fun today.  Great team work, communicating in our actions, body language.  Gesture Game i want one so bad, it is a lot of fun. 

Thank you very much Mrs. Darlene Quichocho for enhancing my knowledge and being a person who cares.  You are a great teacher in my book.

See ya around;  class i am not trying to be teachers pet.  Remember we all got our grades already.  I love mind cause i passed.  Great meeting all of you.

04/25/2012 Speaking for Success

Today in class we had our conference with our teacher on our grades.  Forever speak now, or forever hold your peace.
I passed, but i am not giving up. 
I am shooting for at least an A in her class.
Anything is possible.  I hope my speech is a inviting and entertaining.  Hope you all like it and join me in my reading sessions.  Thank you very much for your undivided attention.

Its coming near to the end and what we are doing as a class is reading the chapters and dicussing them in class.  What ever we do not finish we read on our own.  

We still have our motovational speech due.
It is great learning how to communicate with people.

April 18,2012 Wednesday

So last Wednesday we had met for our class. We did a class reading and discussion on the chapters that we had been reading. It was a great for us to get the reading to a down pack because like many I'm one of them that would refuse to read. Then Mrs.Quichocho had talked with us about our motivational speeches and that by this time now we should be able to give the class and her a perfect speech. That was well thought of and mostly well written.

Chapter 6, Developing Interpersonal Skills, 04/16/12

We talked about our essay.  Showed the teacher my outline.  The class read Chapter 6, Developing Interpersonal Skills.  Then we had to answer the define terms, plus we picked from the idea box page 86 or wrote our own behaviors we didn't like.  We answer our behaviors by writing how we would deal with the situation.   This chapter was interesting.  Especially the part learning the Social Skills for Business Success.

04/18/12 Chapter 7, Interviewing Effectively

.This chapter was also very interesting.  I walked in late and the teacher was reading.  I am sorry everyone for being late.  It must have been the heat.  I left work and started to throw up.  I know, YUK!  Anyways when i felt better i came into class.  Like the say no matter what the outcome interviewing is  a valuable experience from which to learn and grow

Monday April 16,2012

So we had read Chapter 06 in our text books, and in this chapter we learned about the most important things in life one for me was how you introduce people of ages and spouses. I found that chapter very interesting because I never knew that there is ways of introduction. And then great ways on remembering people that you can't exactly remember by name, by usage of initial contacts. For example I can't remember some of my classmates names and though we should take our time and effort on finding out who is who I am very anti-social. I don't really like to talk unless it is needed and for family and very close friends. But in this chapter I found that we can do it we just need to know the territorial areas. When to continue and when to stop.

April 11,2012 Wednesday

We attended class at the MPA Building due to the fact that the Adult Education Showcase was there. We as a class had gone into Room C and Mr. Anthony Roberto was our guest speaker. He had spoke to us about our careers later in life and what I shoulds and shouldn't would be about. We also were told that our future is in our hands and that no matter what people say or think about this part of life is our decisions.

April 11, 2012, Speaking for Success

Today our class went to the MPA to participate in the Adult Education Opening Ceremony, "Guma Rasan Acho' Latte".  We attended the "Career Exploration" session, Mr. Anthony Roberto was our presentor.  We all did an individual activity called Personal Exploration.  It told us our strongest area of interest.   SOCIAL i came out to be on the chart.  HORRAY FOR EDUCATION!

On our first class meeting after Spring Break we talked about doing more advanced speeches. I don't know how I'll do with that although I hope I do this speech really good. School is almost over and there is no time for mistakes right. I hope that this speech doesn't throw me in the wrong direction I hope it leads to the correct places. This sounds although very hard, I will honestly try my very best.

April 09, 2012 Speaking for Success

Class started with attendance and a reminder of qualification on our grants.  We were welcomed back starting of with Project 6 annoucement.  We are to pick a topic today on writing a moticational speech.  Mrs. Q. gave us some ideas on the board.  Our goal is to pressuade, to make audience agree or make action.  We must include a motivational quote, and to include the author.  Include transitional services and also include creditable evidence for reach main point.  Time is to be 4 minutes no more than 8 minutes.  Good luck to all.  I have choosen joining a reading club.

We played a game in class called Gesstures.  I had alot of fun and i believe the whole class did too.  Some things were very difficult and some were very easy for us to guess or tell.  Overall it was a great learning experience in a different way of communicating.  Thank you Mrs. Q. and class.  See ya all in class the next class session.

I did my speech.  What a relief it was, speaking infront of the class or anywhere always gives me butterflies.  I inhale and exhale, take a moment then i feel okay when i have begun.  Project 5 our Special Occasion/Ceremonial Speech Evaluation day.  Conference on grades and attendance.  Good luck to all of us.

Learning how to write and do speeches.  Infront of the class i wrote and outline on the board for extra credit.  Neverous i was, i believe i did good.  Also we had a test and i was confident in myself that i really did a great job.  I am really trying to pass all my classes.  Being a mother, grandmother, working a full time job and going full time to school is very challenging.  I am not giving up.  Trying my best.

Class was refreshing doing outlines on our speeches.  Great help from our teacher, she re-explained the whole outline and did a speech review againg with us.  Class i believe our teachers teaching is very understandable and well comprehendable.  Preparing a ceremonial speech will be alot more easier now . 

March 14, 2012 Speaking for Success

Ceremonial Speech is what we are preparing for, we have to choose a topic and let our teacher know what we are going to write about.  The following listing is what we have to choose from, 1.  Speech of Introduction, 2.  Speech of Presentation, 3.  Speech of Acceptance,  4.  Speech of Welcome or Farewell.  I chose to do a speech on Introduction.  Wish me luck.  Good luck to my fellow classemate.

March 12, 2012 - Speaking for Success

This monday class we read chapter 5.  We also had a class discussion on the word confident.  Mrs. Q. had the whole class contribute their own thoughts and made and outling on the board of all our thoughts and meaning on the word.   Our assignment is different this time.  We have to make a list of 15 words which we believe states out  confidience is and then pick 3 words out of the list and write a 5 sentence paragraph.  Thats not all we have to follow her instructions in writing, example - 1st.  When i was ____ years old.  2nd, five true statments about ourselves, starting each sentence with, I am confident...  The last is tell three true stories about confindence using three words per story.  Good luck to all of us.

March 28,2012 Wednesday

So the past Wednesday we had a game played alongside our selves called "Guesstures." We had fun but it also helped us out on  opening up to our classmates more. We laughed, joked and looked like a complete fool in front of each other. Except the funny thing about it was that it was fun. Haha, That was the best class meeting since spring 2012 started.

Guesstures

 This past wednesday we played a game in class called guesstures. Well in a way it was hard but also really fun to do. My group and I tried to come in first, but everything backfired on us...hahaha... Our teacher Mrs. Quichocho had an example with one of the students before we started though. I don't know if the others had a blast playing the game. But all I could say is that my group and I had a whole lot of fun. The first place winner was, Pat, Joel, and Jordan. The second place winners were Angelica, Latoya, and Nia. The last place winners were Tristan, Li-jay, and I. All I could say is that I know for a fact is that all our classmates had the time of there life playing the for some of us; it was for the first time and the rest of us was for so many times.
