Monday during class we had presented a speech. My speech though was about "Farewell to GCC." I was so amazed with my self and actions, Usually through the beginning of the school semester when it had just began I was nervous. Although Mondays speech felt so fantastic, I honestly do not know what hit me on the head but I had self-confidence in this speech and didn't care about what others thought of me as long as I got the speech right in track.

Yesterdays class session was interesting and fun. I did a warm welcome speech, and for the very first time I wasn't even nervous at all! Spoke like a pro ... Well kind of. But hey, by the end of the day I enjoyed everyones speeches. Can't wait for our extra credit activity. :)

March 21,2012 Wednesday

                     So we have been reading alot about how speeches should be presented. Although I am not very good at that I am trying, Nervousness in front of many people for me is very strong. I tend to notice that everyone watches and just stares but they're staring for a reason because they're trying to get to know that speakers through their speeches. Speeches before I wasn't very fond of but since this class started I been able to not care about anything else and just get up there and do my speeches. Needless to say I am learning something here.

Will Mrs.Q said we can put our outline of our speech for our blog. But i am just going to put an outline of a speech. since we took a test on how to write a speech just the outline. I am happy for my self because i remembered the outline and got a good grade on the test.

3/19/12 mondays class

On monday we did our outline for the ceremony speech we are going to do on monday 3/26/12. we had a choice on what we wanted our speech to be about but it had to be like some type of ceremonial speech. my speech is about graduation because i am hoping i pass all my classes this semester so i can graduate. And also be able to give this speech that i wrote to my family and friends. I think i got this whole speech outline down in my brain.

3/14/12

Today we finished up our papers and read them out loud. I was super nervous but once again i got it done. Well..... Sort of. I had to redo 2 paragraphs but ill have it done soon. Now we have a ceremony speech to write that's due on Monday. I don't know what kind of ceremony im going to write about but im sure ill think of something. I know sooner and later ima have to speak out loud for an occasion so i might as well start practicing. Maybe ill hold on to the speech for this assignment until i actually need it in life.

Well today we read chapter 5 and discussed confidence and what it means to us. Were doing an assignment about confidence and i have to write 3 true stories about 1 paragraph about the topic (confidence). To be honest, i don't remember what else we did this day :(

Today everybody else gave their speeches and we moved on to the next assignment. All this writing is driving me crazy im running out of things to write about. lol.

Today Mrs. Q demonstrated how to give a informative speech... For the second time. I guess for the students who were absent the first time.

 Well i gave my speech. I covered everything Mrs Q asked for but once again i gave my speech way to fast. 2 minutes 10 seconds. 50 seconds shorter than the minimum requirement :(

In chapter 5, I learned what it means to build confidence. I believe that building confidence is a big step towards completing your goal. Such as doing a speech in class, giving a presentation, or even presenting a project in front of an auditorium full of professors. It may look easy to build it all up, but I honestly could tell you it's not. Ask yourself this question: If your teacher asks you to build up enough confidence for a ceremonial speech for your graduation, will you be able to do it? I honestly could say you can, but it's not going to be so easy. I think you should

03/21/2012 - Test Day!

I am so proud of myself.  Yeah i was able to make a great that everyone wants.  Awesome!  Speech is going to be a great enhancement for all of use.  All of our small talks help us in the long run.  Congratulations to all of you that came to class.  We did it!  Thanks to a great teacher.  Hope you are proud of us.  Take care and see ya all in class.

We read chapter five and one thing i learned was how to handle criticism. One of the quotes i liked about criticism "Great spirit grant that imay notcriticize mt neighbor until i have walked a mile in his moccasins"

               Okay so I got out early on Wednesday had no clue about the "Ceremonial Speech" that was supposed to be presented. Mrs.Quichocho, Had told us the class that we would be having a test on the outline for our speech. I hope that I had studied enough for that. I hate speeches, Although the only thing that I could remember is that "Confidence is the key."

Ceremonial Speech.

I never thought of myself as growing old. My life was once about skate boarding, playing video games and just having fun. I am here today to gradually take a few moments to say a few things to the people that are important to me. I'd like to thank my mother and father that had always been there for me through the good times and bad. With all the love that they give me. Thanks. To my sister that had helped me with the many things that she had taught me. Thanks. To my brother that is always there for me when I needed help with presentations, getting me out of trouble when I needed it the most and homework. Thanks. And last but not least, to my grandparents that had showed me the way to being all that I can be. Thank You. Again, to the people I love the most. Thank You.

If you ever watched the movie The Notebook, then you'll know what love is. The moment i met my wife i fell head over heels for her. I was attracted to her like a fisherman is attracted to a mermaid. I knew from that moment that she was the one.

I am glad all of you are hear to celebrate this special day with us. I want to thank everyone for coming. I hope you all enjoy the food, music and open bar. Thank you.

                     Well today we did a speech about self confidence. Although to myself that speech went really great, for some apparent reason that Chapter 5 was all about self-confidence. I was so comfortable reading that out loud because of the Confidence area of the speech. That made me realize, That just because a speech isn't about self-confidence I should always be able to stand for myself and make my progress much better.

03/15/2012 - CONFIDENT

Class was very relaxing today.  Teacher was very kind in letting everyone that did not finish their homework finish it.  The rest was patient enough to just review and complete the other assigned task.
Class was also emotional, with all the different truth statement being shared.  I believe we all learned more about communication and the different types.  Especially learning more about eachother is amazing how communication and make you feel and think.  Looking forward to our ceremonial speech.

March 15, 2012 - CONFIDENT

Before we read our homework the teacher gave time for the ones that needed to finish or do their Work.  Besides that, todays class was relaxing, very emotional.  We all read our homeworks out loud.  Mostly everything we wrote about had to be a something truthful about use.  Very, very touching.  Amazing what communication can make you feel and know about people.  See ya all in class.

                     Well for today Mrs.Quichocho had us read Chapter 5 of the book. I it was very interesting considering that it had said alot about what mistakes and issues we have during speeches. I myself learned that be afraid only makes your speeches harder for ourselves. Then she had also talk to us about CONFIDENCE. That I can really understand because with out myself confidence I wouldn't even be in class to do al leats one speech.

well to start off, how was everybodys monday? today in class we read chapter 5, and the chapter was about building confidence. after reading that chapter, we reviewed it by brainstorming on the board about confidence. the question was whats the first thing that comes to mind when we think about confidence? there were alot of things that were put up on the board. Finally we had to come up with 15 words about confidence. in addition to the 15 words we also wrote a paragraph, three true stories, and three statements we had to come up with for the next time we meet. thats all people

March 07,2012 Wednesday

On Wednesday March 07,2012 we did our speech to better improve ourselves. Although in the result of our speech we did a pretty good job in that. My speech was very simple and something that I had to learn to base myself upon after having my daughter and becoming a young Mother. Like I said our speech was great and, For some reason I wasn't nervous,. Just proud of myself that I could do something like that.

March 5,2012 Monday

Okay for Monday, March 5,2012 Mrs.Quichocho talked to us and has given us a result of doing a speech to better ourselves and to improve our grades. So in the event of that we had to choose a  topic to for us that makes us comfortable and that would help us better understand our weakest points of our speech presentations.

03/07/2012 Speech Day

I was just about 7 minutes late, i had to caught my breath due to the long walk from the parking lot. As i started pulling my book and searching for my docments i just remembered i walked out of work without my picture speach poster. 
I still did my speach.  Drew on the board with the help of teacher and tried to remember everything i did when i practiced my speech in front of the mirror last night. Believe it or not.  I thought i did great.  I took too long in presenting and i wasn't prepared, left out some good statements i would've said if i had my poster.  Teacher said thou overall it was a great speech, just needed to work in getting the format/outline right and timing.  Not giving up, i so badly want an A in all my classes.  Extra work please, anything to make that A.  Teacher please keep showing and telling me/us how.   Thanks a bunch for the help. It is fun communication and presenting.

wednesday almost thursday..

today i came into class late, the reason was i forgot i had class. No joke, i was in my garage and i said to myself  "i feel like im forgetting something", then my brother comes home from work and says "bro what you stio doing here dont you have class" so zzzinged down to gcc. its a good thing i live close by, well today we was mostly just listening to speeches, like about why chocolat is so important, what not to wear on your first date, and say NO to the army build-up.

we started the class by listening to the teachers speech about the kiss methods to be a teachers pet. i thought it was hilarious, and also interesting. we also did our speeches. these speeches was to cover on of our failing grade, and i think i did pretty well if i might say. my speech was about how to shoot a basketball.

Monday 03/05/12

Tonights class was interesting... Talked about the next speech that we are going to present in the next class session. Kind of nervous (once again) about it. But I know I gotta beat this fear of stage fright and do the best I can. This is the reason why I am taking fundamentals class for right? To help me better myself when doing public speaking. :)

03/05/12 Post Lesson Plan

Been out of class since 02/22/12.  I got my grade not too good, hopefully when i turn in and make up my assignments it'll be better.  I guess i overlooked a lesson.  Teacher did a Post Lesson Plan for some of us that needed it.  Her speech was great to be the teachers best grade/favorite with a  KISS.  K=ommunication, I=nsist, S=olicit and S=ay something nice.  After that a few of our fellow classmates did their speech.  They were about Computer, Best Dad, Basket Ball and Changing oil in a vehicle.

Last class meeting Mrs.Quichocho had a talk with us about how we could improve our work better in school for "Fundamentals of Communication." Although she shows us how speeches should be presented we still have more improving to do with our work.

This past class meeting, the teacher had given us a chance to bring up our grades. She had given us a list of speeches that we could choose from. These speeches are from different grades. We could choose or we could make up our own speech. I am thinking of making up my own speech. It may be hard, it may be easy. But I will try and make it to where it will blow the classes out of there seat and especially the teacher. Hopefully I don't choke at the beginning or even at the end. So this is why I will practice practice practice like the teacher had said. It will also make us all have a very good, great, and awesome score. I think this speech is going to make me have a great score. "KEEP IN MIND,(PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE)".
